On this Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek, we have allocated 24 days, including 3 nights in Kathmandu pre-and post-trek. Our adventure begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, followed by a drive to Taplejung, the starting point of our trek.
From Taplejung, we pass through lush forests, picturesque villages, and terraced fields, gradually ascending toward the Kanchenjunga region. The trail takes us through stunning landscapes, from sub-tropical lowlands to high-altitude alpine terrain. Along the way, we pass through beautiful villages like Sekathum, Gyabla, and Ghunsa, where we experience the rich culture of Rai, Limbu, and Sherpa communities. The trek continues through stunning yak pastures, glacial valleys, and moraines before reaching Kanchenjunga North Base Camp (Pangpema, 5,143m)—offering breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak (8,586m).
After exploring Pangpema, we retrace our steps and take an alternative route towards Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (4,730m), where we witness a different perspective of the mighty Kanchenjunga massif. The trek then loops back to Taplejung, where we conclude our journey before heading back to Kathmandu.
Throughout the trek, we provide experienced English-speaking guides, kitchen helpers, porters, and essential food provisions. Trekkers can choose between teahouse accommodation or tented camping, depending on availability and preference. Our team also supports local communities by purchasing fresh, locally sourced food, contributing to sustainable tourism.
